I am looking for an 'original' Mossberg magazine, for a Mossberg New Haven 250C. This rifle is dated somewhere from 1958-1961. I found a that Havlin sales makes aftermarket mags for it, but I bought a few, and they do NOT work well at all. Chronic FTF, and jams while feeding. I've had a gunsmith look at the whole package and the specs on the mags just aren't correct. The mag doesnt sit properly when inserted, so the round sits slightly below the barrel. There is also a gap between the mag and the barrel, causing the round to feed on a slight angle because of the mismatch in height, and because of the gap it feeds crooked , or angled, and becomes jammed.
The original mag for this rifle was a 7 shot mag and was called a 'magic magazine' It shot .22 S,L and LR. The owners manual says you could simply change what length ammo you were using with 'the flip of a finger' I have attached a picture from a page of an original owners manual. If anyone knows where I can get one of these, please let me know. Thanks
